Memorial Cup 2009

A minutes silence

On Sunday May 24th 2009, the footballing family of St. Andrews Tavern turned out to compete in the 2009 Memorial Cup.

And after an early strike from our Gaz (not pictured due to the ferocity and promptness of the goal) the Americans slowly carved out a victory.

Following the game an unusually large amount of beer was consumed at the tavern and many happy people went home with great prizes donated by friends and family.

To see the photos from the game, visit the Memorial Cup 2009 photos on my flickr page. Eric, Chris, Jeremy. We miss you so much, and we would have loved for you to be there on Sunday playing alongside us.

What a treat it was to play in in the memorial cup. I didn’t know Eric and Chris,I only knew Jeremy. But you could tell there was a lot of love for all three of them. It was also nice to see Jeremy’s mum in attendance. The fellowship at the the St. Andrews afterwards was brilliant. Me and Bob did a great job of cooking the hamburgers.(I think.) Hopefully we raised a little bit of money for the families. Sadly Eric,Chris and Jeremy are no longer with us but they are certainly not forgoten.  RIP   Jimmy Jack….
